Withered Knight build
Official Beginner Setup — Polearm and Shield
Bellring Games' official starter loadout for the Polearm and Shield Withered Knight, from the official Discord.
OfficialBeginnerPolearm and Shield
Bellring Games' recommended beginner setup for the Polearm and Shield Withered Knight, published in the official Mistfall Hunter Discord. The official loadout selects Spear Barrage, Javelin Thrust, Breaker Shield Bash on the skill side, allocates 8 talent points, and flags 5 affixes as the gear priorities to hunt for. Open it in the editor below — skills and talents come pre-filled exactly as published, and any change you make becomes your own shareable link.
Selected skills (3)
The setup selects these on top of the weapon's basic kit — each class's core weapon actions are always available and are not part of the selection.

Spear BarragePolearm and Shield
Rapidly thrust your spear forward, following up with a powerful thrust that knocks the enemy down. Successful hits charge your weapon with Judgment energy.

Javelin ThrustPolearm and Shield
Hurl your spear forward, immediately applying Wither to the target. Upon impact, rapidly leap to the target and pull out the spear with a sweeping strike to deal damage.

Breaker Shield BashPolearm and Shield
Strikes the back of the shield with a fist to deal damage to targets within a wide frontal area, immediately applying Wither. Possesses a Block property while the shield is raised.
Talent allocation (8 points)
Grouped by the in-game talent rings. Prerequisite chains in the official allocation are complete — the whole set loads legally into the editor.
Weapon Specialization

Polearm and Shield SpecializationLv 5
When wielding a Polearm and Shield, you can equip one additional skill, but the Greatsword has one skill slot disabled.
Core Archetype

Rising MoraleLv 2
Casting a Polearm and Shield skill (when the skill's key effect is triggered) increases the charge level of Charged Dash by 1 for a short duration.

Momentum ShiftLv 2
Allows up to 2 dodges while raising the shield during Charged Dash (consumes Dodge Energy). Each dodge executed during this time increases the charge level of Charged Dash by 1.

Shield Wall SlamLv 2
Dodging forward while raising the shield during Charged Dash grants Super Armor, increases the dash distance, and deals damage, while also executing enemies affected by Wither.
Spear Barrage Enhancement

Endless FlowLv 6
You can hold Spear Barrage to continuously consume Energy and increase the number of rapid thrusts.

BuildupLv 6
Every two rounds of rapid thrusts from Spear Barrage increases the charge level of Charged Dash.
Javelin Thrust Enhancement

Javelin: Heavy KickLv 5
The sweeping strike of Javelin Thrust is replaced with a heavy kick that knocks the enemy back a significant distance (allowing for camera adjustments during the animation to control the knockback direction). This effect only applies to small-sized units and players, and cannot affect units in a special state, such as Super Armor or Frozen.

Javelin: StunLv 5
Enemies knocked back by the heavy kick are stunned briefly if they collide with a wall. If they collide with another enemy, both units are stunned.
